Meadowbrook High School is owned by the United Church of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands and operated in partnership with the Government of Jamaica through the Ministry of Education.

Meadowbrook is operated in partnership with the Government of Jamaica through the Ministry of Education, anchoring our work in both faith and public service.

Governance Authority

The school is managed by a Board whose members are appointed by the Minister of Education under the Education Act of 1980.

The Board acts on behalf of the Ministry, the Church, and the wider Meadowbrook community to safeguard the mission and standards of the institution.

Responsibilities

What the Board does

  • Set the strategic direction and approve the long-term plan of the school.
  • Oversee financial stewardship, budgets, audits, and capital projects.
  • Approve major policies on curriculum, student welfare, and staffing.
  • Support the Principal in the day-to-day leadership of the school.
  • Represent the interests of the Church, parents, alumni, staff, and students.
  • Ensure compliance with the Education Act of 1980 and Ministry guidelines.
